Some history of Ideal Doors:

1992

Clopay acquires Ideal Door, Phoenix Door,and Automatic Door Company. Clopay, established in Cincinnati, Ohio as the Seinsheimer Paper Company in 1859, originally sold paper products and other related items. The name “Clopay” was developed in the early twentieth century as an acronym formed by the contraction of the words “cloth-paper”. Clopay entered the garage door industry in 1964. Clopay Building Products acquires Holmes Hally Industries, giving it manufacturing in the western US.This makes Clopay Building Products the largest manufacturer of residential doors in the United States.
